One of the best things about my work is that I feel like I’m going to see a friend every time I visit a client! It’s really important to me that the woman and her partner (if she has one) feel super confident and supported throughout their time working with me. I am absolutely confident that you will feel less fearful, relaxed and calm about your upcoming birth once we start working together.
Most of my clients come to me through direct referrals and I’ve built up many strong relationships over the years in and around my home community of Ilkley. I often work with families over a number of years, supporting them through the birth of more than one child. I regularly get invited to blessing ways, weddings, christenings and first birthday parties and I’ve been nominated for Midwife of the Year two years running in the MaMa Awards, so I’m in no doubt clients value my work!
for partners too!
Is your partner feeling anxious or worried that he won’t know what to do to support you in labour? I encourage partners to call or text me with any concerns as so often I can quickly give the reassurance needed to ensure he feels supported too. you are a team and I want you both to feel amazing during your pregnancy journey!
When thinking about pregnancy and how I help couples prepare for their birth, I can’t help but use weddings to compare and contrast. It’s not uncommon for a couple to spend a lot of money on their wedding, which of course only lasts one day. In my opinion, pregnancy and the birth of your baby is just as important – if not even more so – and will be one of the most unforgettable times of your life. Why wouldn’t you want to do everything you can to prepare for this special time in the best possible way?
